THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Lokayukta has adjourned the case of Women's Commission member Shahida Kamal regarding her educational qualifications. Lokayukta officials said the order would be issued within two weeks.

Shahida Kamal's lawyer presented the certificates and mark sheets proving her educational qualifications. Shahida presented her B.Com certificate from Annamalai University in 2016 and the MA certificate she got in 2018 and her mark list. In 2017, Shahida became a member of the Women's Commission. The Lokayukta asked what period the complainant was questioning the sincerity and honesty of Shahida's activities. It was suggested to specify the period after joining the Women's Commission or before. However, complainant Akhila Khan did not give an exact answer. The plaintiff was also not interested in the court's direction to use the services of an attorney. Following this, the case was adjourned for an order.

It is alleged that Shahida gave fake certificates to contest the elections and become a member of the Women's Commission. The complainant had alleged that copies of the original documents were not produced in court as the educational qualifications were fake.
