PALAKKAD: Kottathara Tribal Hospital superintendent Dr Prabhudas, who had criticized the government after Health Minister Veena George's visit to Attappady, has been transferred to Tirurangadi Taluk Hospital. Pattambi Taluk Hospital superintendent Mohammad Abdul Rahman will replace Dr Prabhudas as superintendent of Kottathara Hospital. The move to transfer Dr Prabhudas came days after he criticised the health minister. Meanwhile, the health secretary stated that the transfer was given for easier administration.

Earlier, Dr Prabhudas had alleged that the government cared about Attappady only when infant deaths were reported. He had alleged that several members of the hospital management committee were demanding bribes to pass the bills and that the move against him came as he attempted to prevent this.
