THRISSUR: The mortal remains of junior warrant officer Pradeep A, who died in a helicopter crash, has been brought to Puthur. The mortal remains are currently kept at the Puthur Government School for the public to pay their respects.

Union Minister V Muraleedharan, Ministers K Radhakrishnan, K Krishnankutty, K Rajan, MP Ramya Haridas and other dignitaries from the political and cultural circles paid their last respects to the officer. Top officials of various forces also attended the function. The funeral will be held at 5.30 pm at his house in Ponnukkara with full military honours.

Pradeep, a native of Ollur in Thrissur joined Airforce in 2004. He was serving at Sulur Airbase in Coimbatore. The accident happened when Rawat and his crew were on their way to Wellington to attend a junior cadet officers’ seminar. Pradeep was one of the army personnel who accompanied the crew from Sulur airbase. Pradeep's father, who is on a ventilator, has been informed of his death.
