THRISSUR: The mortal remains of junior warrant officer Pradeep A, who died in a helicopter crash, was cremated with full military honours in Puthur. The Guard of Honor was given by the Air Force and Police. Pradeep's son did the last rites. The public viewing at the house was attended by thousands. Earlier, the body was brought to the family home after a public viewing at Puthur High School. The body was brought in a specially arranged military vehicle.

Union Minister V Muraleedharan, Ministers K Radhakrishnan, K Krishnankutty, K Rajan, MP Ramya Haridas and other dignitaries from the political and cultural circles paid their last respects to the officer. Top officials of various forces also attended the function.

Pradeep, a native of Ollur in Thrissur joined Airforce in 2004. He was serving at Sulur Airbase in Coimbatore. The accident happened when Rawat and his crew were on their way to Wellington to attend a junior cadet officers’ seminar. Pradeep was one of the army personnel who accompanied the crew from Sulur airbase. Pradeep's father, who is on a ventilator, has been informed of his death.
