THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have registered a case against Muslim League state secretary Abdurahman Kallayi for his controversial speech against minister Mohammad Riyas. Kozhikode Vellayil police registered a case on a complaint lodged by CPM Parappanangadi local committee member Mujeeb Rahman AP.

The league leader has been charged with defamatory remarks and inciting secularism. The League leader made the abusive remark at a Waqf protection rally held in Kozhikode on Thursday. The League leader's abusive remarks against Riyas and his wife came after he said that spirituality is the basic tenet of the Muslim community and that only true Muslims are those who practice only Islamic ways. Abdurahman Kallayi also accused the communists of not living in the Islamic way.
