KUMILI: A woman who gave quotation to murder her husband after 22 days of marriage, committed suicide. The 21-year-old woman was found hanging inside her house after the murder attempt failed and she feared that she would be arrested after the quotation team was held. The incident happened at Kambam in Theni, Tamil Nadu. She has been identified as Bhuvaneshwari of Kambam.

Bhuvaneswari was married to cable TV employee Gautham (24) on November 10. Bhuvaneswari was waiting for her appointment in the police department. However, after marriage, Bhuvaneshwari realized that she will not be able to go for work and so decided to kill her husband.

She approached Niranjan alias Antony of Theni, to kill her husband. She paid him Rs 75,000 after pledging her necklace of three sovereigns, to commit the murder. Following the plan, she along with her husband visited Kumily and Thekkady on December 2. On the way back home, stopped the scooter on the roadside and the two walked a short distance. When coming back to the scooter, Gautham found the tyre punctured and so he started rolling the scooter.

According to the plan, the quotation team arrived in a car and tried to kill him by hitting on the scooter, but Gautham escaped. The group then stopped the vehicle and started beating Gautham and when other vehicles arrived, they fled the place. Gautham then lodged a complaint with the police. Antony (20), Pradeep (35), Manoj Kumar (20), Albert (28) and Jaya Sandhya (18) were arrested by the Kambam police after an investigation.

Police said Bhuvaneshwari feared that the probe would reach her and so committed suicide. Police found the gold pledged to pay for the quotation team. The police have intensified search for Jerry, another accused in the case.
