KOCHI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan involved directly in the incident of registering a case for labelling youth congress workers as terrorists after they protested seeking action against Aluva circle inspector in the suicide of Mofiya Parveen. The chief minister summoned rural SP Karthik and sought an explanation. The chief minister who examined the files in detail summoned special branch SP and DySP, who investigated the case and sought an explanation. The officials were summoned to Aluva Guest House.
Soon after the meeting between the chief minister and officials, Aluva circle inspector Baiju Paul went on leave. It was found that there was a failure from the part of Aluva circle inspector while overseeing preparing the custody report. An explanation was sought from the circle inspector on it. Meantime, the officials’ explanation is that the circle inspector went on leave citing personal reasons.
The police alleged terrorist links in the custody report of the congressmen who staged a protest. Aluva MLA Anwar Sadath who led the protest had intervened in the incident. Following that, two policemen were placed under suspension.
