KOCHI: A Tamil Nadu native was strangled to death by his wife and daughter in Kochi. The deceased has been identified as Dindigul native Shankar. Shankar was admitted to the hospital two days ago due to health issues. He later died while undergoing treatment. During the post mortem, doctors found some abnormal marks on his neck. Following this, the police were informed. Later, Shankar's wife Selvi and daughter were taken into custody.

Police said that Shankar, an alcoholic, used to torture his wife and daughter regularly. Selvi sustained a fracture on her hand during one such attack. Unable to bear the torture, Selvi and the daughter strangled Shankar using a shoelace. The court has remanded Selvi and her daughter, who pleaded guilty during questioning.
