THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM has sought an explanation from Kattakada MLA I B Sathish for allegedly recommending affiliation with the Sports Council for a supporter of the BJP. The BJP supporter is the leader of a Karate Association. The family of the martyr Vishnu lodged a complaint against Sathish for recommending him.

However, no action was taken against the other two district committee members for recommending for the same leader. District secretary Anavur Nagappan sought an explanation at the Thiruvananthapuram district committee attended by state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.

However, reports said Sathish blamed the district secretary for the act. The party had taken action against CPM leader V K Madhu for the lapses noticed in electioneering in Aruvikkara constituency. A section said Sathish's opposition to this has now led for an explanation.
