THRISSUR: The state government announced help to the family of Pradeep Kumar, Indian Air Force Junior Warrant Officer, who died in the copter crash at Coonoor in Tamil Nadu. A financial help of Rs 5 lakh would be given to his family. Revenue Minister K Rajan said an amount of Rs 3 lakh would be given for the treatment of his father. The decision was taken at the cabinet meet.

The government offered job to Pradeep’s wife Sreelekshmi. The government fondly remembers the service rendered by Pradeep to Kerala during the floods of 2018. The government usually gives job to the dependents of soldiers who die in war or similar situations. However, she is offered a job considering the special circumstances. Pradeep was the breadwinner of the family.


Pradeep Kumar, a junior warrant officer of the Air Force, was killed in a helicopter crash in Coonoor along with Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat. All 13 were killed in the crash. The lone survivor Group captain Varun Singh, 39, who was undergoing treatment for injuries, died at a hospital in Bengaluru today taking the toll to 14.
