THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader and former MLA VT Balram has extended support to the concept of ​​a gender-neutral uniform. Balram said that it was good for democracy that dress becomes a choice of individuals.

"The concept of gender-neutral uniform will help children understand what gender is and how gender stereotypes are formed. Gender-neutral uniforms are a great idea in the context of discussions to implement changes in schools, including sex education," Balram said.

"Meanwhile, we need to move forward by combining gender equality and the freedom to choose what dress we like. We should not impose a dress code on anyone. The issue needs to be discussed and changes need to be made democratically," he added.
