SABARIMALA: A five-member transgender group visited Sabarimala. Thripthi, Ranjumol, Athithi, Sajna and Jasmine visited the shrine with Thripthi's husband Hrithik. Their visit was at 12.30 pm after 'Kalababhishekam'. They were detained by the police in the early hours of the morning. Physical examination was also performed. Permission was granted after discussions with the ADM. They arrived after observing vrat for 41 days. Attempts were made for spot booking first at Ettumanoor and later at Nilakkal but were not received. Spot booking was attempted through the option of 'others' which is there alongside male and female. They were allowed into Sannidhanam after waiting till 4 in the morning. They also carried transgender ID cards. Jasmine is from Palakkad and the Athithi, Thripthi, Sajna, and Hrithik are from Ernakulam. Thripthi and Ranjumol visited Sabarimala for the third time.
