KOCHI: The police have withdrawn the terrorist remarks made against the protesting Congress workers in connection with the Mofiya Parveen suicide case. The police reported to the court that the officers had made a mistake and should be allowed to correct the reference.
The Aluva police station has arrested three activists in connection with the protest at the Aluva police station by lawmakers seeking justice for Mofiya Parveen, a law student who committed suicide following dowry abuse. Two police officers were suspended in connection with the incident.
The Congress had come out in strong protest against the remark in the report. However, the police did not withdraw the report containing the controversial remark. Anwar Sadath MLA then lodged a complaint with the Chief Minister, after which a new report was submitted after removing the remark.
