ALAPPUZHA: Minister Saji Cheriyan's gunman has been suspended for allegedly assaulting a woman doctor at the Alappuzha Medical College Hospital. Gunman Aneesh Mon has been suspended by the Intelligence IG. The order also says that a departmental inquiry will be held against Aneesh Mon.

The incident took place at 11.45 pm on Saturday in the 16th ward of the Medical College Hospital. The house surgeon had lodged a complaint with the Ambalapuzha police alleging that the gunman had assaulted her. Aneesh's father Kunjukunju was admitted to the hospital following a heart attack. Doctors say the patient was in critical condition as he reached the hospital. When the patient died, his companions attacked doctors and nurses, accusing them of medical negligence. Staff says the gunman beat the woman house surgeon during the quarrel.

Ambalapuzha police found the gunman guilty in the incident. The action is based on the report of the Ambalapuzha police.
