NEW DELHI: Actor Dileep has withdrawn the plea filed in the Supreme Court demanding to acquit him in the actress attack case. He withdrew the plea after the trial of the case is being completed. Dileep had approached the court in January last year with the same demand.

The trial court had earlier rejected his demand to acquit him from the case. The actor filed the plea in the apex court against it in January 2020.

The actress was attacked on February 17 in 2017 by miscreants while she was traveling on the national highway in Kochi and they shot the images defaming her. Dileep was arrested in the case and lodged in jail.
