THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president K Sudhakaran said that the party will seek an explanation from Shashi Tharoor MP regarding his views on the K-Rail issue.

'I am not responding to the comment made by Shashi Tharoor on K-Rail. It is not right to respond without asking him. The subject will be discussed within the party. If it is wrong, he will be asked to correct it. He is a person who accepts the party '- Sudhakaran said. K Sudhakaran clarified that what the Muslim League had said about increasing the legal age of marriage was their opinion. He added that the Congress has not discussed the matter yet and will discuss and comment. He reiterated that K-Rail project is unscientific.

Shashi Tharoor did not sign the petition filed by UDF MPs against K-Rail to the Railway Minister. Tharoor's different stance was a headache for the party as the opposition prepared to protest against the state government over the K-Rail issue. Shashi Tharoor's praise of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in front of Congress leaders, including the Leader of the Opposition, at the Lulu Mall inauguration yesterday was also a problem within the party. "I like the CM's speech. There is no need to look at politics when he says good things he has done for the development of the state. Because I am a person who stands for development. I would love to see the development of Thiruvananthapuram. I am of the opinion that the Chief Minister is trying to change the current situation in Kerala", Tharoor said. Former KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran had today criticized Tharoor's speech.
