ALAPPUZHA: SDPI state secretary Advocate KS Shan was hacked to death. It is not clear who is behind the murder. Shan, who was on his way home on a scooter, was knocked down by the attackers in the car that followed him. Shan, who was on the road, was hacked by four people. He was rushed to a private hospital in Ernakulam but succumbed to his injuries.

The attack took place at 7.30 pm on Saturday at Mannancherry in Alappuzha.

Shan was later shifted to a private hospital in Ernakulam for emergency surgery after sustaining head, limb and abdominal injuries.

A police team led by Alappuzha DySP M Jayaraj is camping at the spot following the incident.
