ALAPPUZHA: A BJP leader was hacked to death early Sunday morning. The victim has been identified as Renjith Sreenivasan, OBC Morcha state secretary. He was 40. The miscreants barged into his house at Vellakinar in Zacharia Bazar and then hacked him to death.

Renjith was attacked in front of his wife and mother. Although he was rushed to the hospital, his life could not be saved. His body has been shifted to Alappuzha General Hospital. Renjith was a lawyer of Alappuzha Court. He contested in the last assembly elections.

Renjith was attacked soon after the murder of SDPI leader. K S Shaan, SDPI state secretary was hacked to death Saturday night at 7.30 pm.

Police said it suspects the fatal attack on Sreenivas was in retaliation to the killing of Shaan.
