ALAPPUZHA: There were nearly forty hack injuries on the body of K S Shaan, SDPI leader who was murdered. Initial reports said the hack injuries he sustained on his neck and stomach was the cause of the death. RSS are behind the heinous crime, alleged the SDPI.

SDPI state secretary advocate K S Shaan of Ponnad Alsha House was attacked at Kuppezham Junction in Mannancheri last evening at 7.30 pm. He was attacked while he was going home. The five-member team in a car knocked him down and then hacked him to death. The locals rushed him to the hospital. The footages were captured on the camera of next house.

A large police team led by Alappuzha DySP M Jayaraj is camping in the area. The investigation is focusing on the CCTV footages. Shan's body is presently in a private hospital in Kochi. Post-mortem procedures will begin shortly after bringing the body to Vandanam hospital.
