THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor is firm in his stand on the Silver Line project. He said it is anti-democratic to reject government’s stand without hearing what they have to say.

He opined that debate, discussions and disapproval were the cornerstones of democracy and denying the atmosphere for it would weaken democracy and society. Tharoor's response came in an article published in an outline media.

Tharoor also revealed the reason why he did not sign the letter of the UDF MPs sent to union railway minister opposing the K-Rail Project. A stand could not be taken without studying on the issue in detail and did not sign the letter because such a study had not yet taken place, he said.
