ALAPPUZHA: The district collector called an all-party meeting in Alappuzha on Monday in the wake of political killings. The meeting will be held at 3 pm in the district collector's chamber. The meeting will be attended by ministers, representatives of various political parties and legislators from the district.

The meeting will discuss ways to restore peace and ways to avoid violence altogether. Currently, prohibitory order has been announced in Alappuzha on Sunday and Monday. The order was announced by the district collector in the wake of two murders in 12 hours. SDPI state secretary KS Shan was the first to be killed. Within hours, OBC Morcha state secretary Ranjith Srinivasan was also killed.

The body of Ranjith Srinivasan has been taken to Vandanam Medical College for postmortem. After the postmortem, it will be displayed in the Alappuzha Bar Association Hall. He will then be taken on a mourning journey to his home in Vellakkinar. Funeral services will be held at 9 pm at the family home.
