ALAPPUZHA: More people are likely to be arrested today in connection with the murders of BJP and SDPI leaders. More than fifty people are in custody now. The investigation is being conducted on the basis of their statements.

The investigation team is of the conclusion that both the killer gangs have gone hiding. SDPI state secretary advocate K S Shaan of Ponnad Alsha House and BJP OBC morcha state secretary Renjith Sreenivasan of Vellakinar in Alappuzha were the two killed.

Shaan was murdered in an attack that happened on the road near Kuppezham Junction east of Mannancherry school at 7.30 pm on Saturday night. BJP OBC morcha state secretary Renjith Sreenivasan was hacked to death in front of his family Sunday morning.

The body of Renjith will be handed over to his family at 9 am after the post-mortem. After keeping the body for paying homage, it will be taken to his house in Arattupuzha for the cremation.
