ALAPPUZHA: The BJP will most probably skip the all-party meet to be convened Monday evening against the backdrop of political tensions and double murders. The party decided to stay away from the all-party meet due to the disrespect shown to the body of BJP leader Renjith Sreenivasan murdered Sunday morning. The party said things including the time changed were not informed earlier.
BJP district chief M V Gopakumar alleged that post-mortem was deliberately delayed. Post mortem was not conducted on Sunday as RTPCR test and inquest proceedings were delayed. It was held Monday morning and this was deliberate, alleged the BJP.
‘Not against creating a peaceful atmosphere. The disrespect shown to Renjith Sreenivasan's body is unbearable. Both the police and the government are showing negligence. Meantime, it is giving due consideration to the SDPI and the terrorist forces. The all-party meeting was postponed to five o'clock and we were not informed. We don’t know when the body will be handed over to us and when the last rites will be held. So, cannot attend the all-party meet,’ he said.
Meantime, Minister Saji Cherian said the meeting was postponed to 5 pm for the convenience of BJP leaders. Collector A Alexander had informed yesterday that the all-party meeting will be held at the Collectorate on Monday at 3 pm. The meeting will be presided over by Ministers Saji Cherian and P Prasad.
