murder

THRISSUR: Police have arrested the lover of a married woman for thrashing her husband to death. Bengal native Beeru (33), has been arrested for murdering Mansoor Malik, also a native of Bengal. Police have also arrested Reshma Beevi, wife of Mansoor.

According to police, both Beeru and Reshma murdered Mansoor to live together. Reshma had told the police yesterday that it was she who killed him using an iron rod during a brawl.

However, police later discovered that Mansoor was killed on the night of the 12th while sleeping. The body was then buried by the two at the back of the house.

Mansoor, a goldsmith, had been living in Cherpu for over ten years. It was he who brought Beeru as his aide. Police said that Mansoor frequently got involved in disputes with Reshma over land disputes in Bengal. Reshma used to share her family problems with Beeru. Later, both Beeru and Reshma fell in love. The two had been planning to avoid Mansoor and move somewhere else with the children for quite some time.

On the night of December 12th, Beeru bought a bottle of liquor and got Mansoor drunk. In the meantime, Reshma fed the children and made them go to bed early. She then informed Beeru that Mansoor was sleeping unconscious due to intoxication. Following this, Beeru killed him by thrashing his head with an iron rod. After confirming his death, the two wrapped the body using a blanket and shifted it to the bathroom of the adjoining room. The burial of the body was postponed to Monday night. The body was then buried in a garbage dump at the back of the house.

Later, Reshma and her boyfriend went to the police station and filed a missing complaint. Upon returning from the station, she met Mansoor's friend who came looking for him. Reshma, however, told him that Mansoor had gone back to Bengal.
