PALAKKAD: A teenager was abducted and thrashed for allegedly falling in love with a girl. Afzal (18), a native of Mundur in Palakkad was abducted by a four-member gang, thrashed and then abandoned him on the road. Seriously injured Afzal is undergoing treatment at Thrissur Medical College.

The family alleged that Afzal was thrashed for falling in love with a financially sound girl. The gang abducted him in a car on December 15 from Mannarkkad bus stand. They attacked him brutally till Attappady. His relatives told a private channel that they abandoned him on the road thinking he was dead after he lost consciousness.

Afzal's mother said that when she went to the police station to lodge a complaint, the girl’s relatives threatened to kill him. Afzal is a civil engineering student at a private college in Mannarkkad.
