KASARGOD: A man who was under treatment following an attack by a wild boar, died of his injuries on Wednesday. He has been identified as Joy alias Ulahanan (60) of Vellarikundu Pathikara. He was mauled while shooting the wild boar.

The incident happened on November 1. He sustained deep injuries. He shot the boar at the house premises of Shiju in Balal Athikadavu.

This is a place where wild boars are a constant nuisance. Joy has the permission of the forest and a licensed gun to shoot the animal.
