THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan formally inaugurated the Kerala Administrative Service. "Ever since the formation of the state of Kerala, we have wanted to implement the Kerala Administrative Service. Many people thought that this would not work", the CM said.

"PSC deserves special credit for the implementation of KAS. Attempts to implement this was initially met with opposition from some quarters. But even those who initially opposed it later agreed to support it. The benefits of such schemes would be available to those who support and oppose", the CM added.

"When many projects could not be implemented due to protests, many thought that this would not happen in Kerala. But things are working out in the state now", he said. The CM also directed the KAS officers to pay attention to the activities of their own department as well as coordination with other departments.
