THRISSUR: The KPCC has sought an explanation from the Thrissur DCC regarding the incident where a number of Congress councillors celebrated Christmas on the day of the funeral of party leader PT Thomas MLA. The councillors celebrated Christmas on Thursday morning.

It must be noted that Christmas celebrations were avoided in various parts of the state in honour of PT Thomas. While the whole of Kerala was mourning the death of PT Thomas, the Congress councillors celebrated Christmas by cutting a cake. With the incident becoming a controversy, KPCC decided to seek an explanation.

A similar incident also took place in Kochi. The employees of Kakkanad Civil Station celebrated Christmas on Friday. However, the celebrations were called off after Congress workers protested.
