KOZHIKODE: The family of Krishnapriya, who was set ablaze by a youth in Kozhikode, has lodged a complaint against offensive campaigns on social media. Thikkodi native Krishnapriya was set ablaze by Nandakumar aka Nandu. Nandu, who attempted suicide by setting himself on fire, died later.

Following this, an audio clip in which Krishapriya's father can be heard saying that Nandu was not a bad person started circulating on social media. Krishapriya's family members have now clarified that her father said those things to ensure that Nandu did not create any problems.

"Nandu had recorded that conversation. Some online media started spreading this conversation after the death of Krishnapriya. Attempts are being made to spread this conversation in the wrong way to portray that it was Krishnapriya's misbehavior that led to the murder. We are lodging a complaint against this," Krishnapriya's relative said.
