THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following an intelligence warning of massive use of drugs, the police have strictly controlled DJ parties to be held as part of New Year celebrations. State police chief gave directions regarding this.

The police have given many directions including no DJ parties after 10 pm, CCTV cameras should function properly in hotels where parties are held and the footages of it should be kept safely. A notice in this regard will be issued to the hotels. A special branch of the police will monitor the hotels where parties are held.

DJ parties were regulated against the backdrop of a surge in drug use in the state. DJ parties are organized in many places as part of New Year celebrations. As a part of this, the police imposed strict restrictions on the possibility of massive drug use.
