KOCHI: A woman burnt to death in Paravur is hinted to be a murder. Police said her sister set her ablaze for opposing love. The incident happened yesterday at Paravur Peruvaram 11th ward at Panorama Nagar.

The victim has been identified as Vismaya (25), daughter of Sivanandan of Arakkaparambil. The police have intensified search for her sister Jithu aged 22. Sivanandan, his wife and two daughters were staying in the house. The second daughter has been undergoing treatment for mental illness for some time.

Sivanandan and his wife had gone to see the doctor yesterday. The incident happened at this time. Seeing smoke emanating from their house, the neighbours alerted the authorities. Two rooms have been completely gutted in the fire. The woman's body was found burnt in one of them.
