THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state has 21 ministers including the chief minister but there are only 20 official residences. In this situation, the government has decided to build one more official residence building. The new one will be for Minister Abdurahiman as he is staying in a rented house now.

The residence for Abdurahiman will be in the compound of Minister V Sivankutty's Rose House. There are seven other ministerial buildings in the compound of the chief minister's Cliff House. Periyar, Prashanth, Pournami, Nest, Ashoka, Pampa and Essen Den are in the Cliff House compound.

There are four ministerial residences (Cauvery, Ganga, Nila and Grace) in the compound of opposition leader's Cantonment House. Manmohan Bungalow, Ajanta and Kowdiar House are located near the Raj Bhavan.

The residences of two ministers are at Nandancode and three at Vazhuthacaud. Only Abdurahiman has no official residence. He is staying in a rented house in Vazhuthacaud.
