curfew

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The nighttime restrictions announced to control New Year celebrations in the state and reduce the risk of Omicron transmission will not be extended. The current restrictions will end on Monday morning. The Department of Disaster Management announced the night curfew from December 30 to January 2. The curbs are between 10 pm and 5 am. Shops are not allowed to operate and people won't be allowed to gather around after 10 pm.

Only after assessing the Covid situation in the state will it be decided whether further restrictions are needed. This requires a Covid review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister. It has not been decided when the next meeting will be. Meanwhile, with 45 cases being confirmed today, the total number of Omicron patients in the state has crossed 150. So far, 152 people have been diagnosed with the disease.
