THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 5944 COVID-19 cases on Saturday. Among these, 5479 persons developed the disease through contact, including 337 cases without an identified source of infection. 80 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 48 health workers contracted the disease on Saturday.

2463 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 31,098 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 33 deaths due to the virus on Saturday with the toll rising to 49,547.

Thiruvananthapuram 1219, Ernakulam 1214, Kozhikode 580, Thrissur 561, Kottayam 319, Pathanamthitta 316, Kollam 299, Kannur 280, Malappuram 260, Palakkad 248, Alappuzha 235, Kasaragod 150, Idukki 147 and Wayanad 116.
