KANNUR: The re-survey of the land, which has been languishing for more than half a century and has recently gone digital, will be resumed in February. In the first phase, digital surveys will be launched in 250 villages. With this, the fear that those who live without documents in poramboke land and so on will be completely expelled became strong.
Following the success of the experimental digital land survey at Attingal in Thiruvananthapuram district and Kilikollur in Kollam district, the Revenue Department has decided to conduct the survey everywhere.
The goal is to complete the digital survey by 2025. For this, the tender process for setting up of 30 Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) is in the final stages. With the completion of the digital re-survey, it will be possible to consolidate the geography services in the Revenue, Survey and Registration Departments.
The re-survey is 40 per cent completed via CORS, 40 per cent by the three-dimensional mapping system of the lidar, and 20 per cent by the electronic total station.
