THRISSUR: Guruvayur Devaswom managing committee has imposed strict restrictions in the Guruvayur temple in the wake of the recent surge in Covid cases in the state. The restrictions will come into effect from tomorrow.
Only 3000 people will be allowed for darshan in a day. Only those who have booked online will be allowed for darshan. At present, 10,000 devotees are being allowed for darshan. No more than ten people will be allowed to attend marriages. Two photographers will be allowed in addition. Those who have booked for 'Choroonu' will be provided with a kit, containing the 'nivedyam', so that the offering can be made at home.
The cultural activities at the Melpattur Auditorium and the Krishnanattam held at the temple every night were stopped. 'Thulabharam' can take place as per Covid protocol.
The decision was taken by Devaswom chairman KB Mohandas, administrator KP Vinayan, Tantri Chennas Dineshan Namboodiripad, board members and the district collector.
