IDUKKI: A police officer was issued a show cause notice for leaking official information to the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI). P K Anaz, an officer of Karimannoor police station, leaked the official information.

Anaz leaked information of RSS gathered by the police as part of preventive measures, to the SDPI members. The police came to know about the leak from an SDPI worker arrested in connection with another case. The narcotic cell DySP A G Lal had conducted department-level inquiry and submitted report to the Idukki district police chief. Based on this, the show cause notice was issued. The police will resort to further investigation if the reply is not found satisfying. The officer had been suspended on the basis of the inquiry report submitted by Thodupuzha DySP.
