PATHANAMTHITTA: CPM Pathanamthitta district secretary KP Udayabhanu has hinted that action will be taken against CPM-DYFI activists for attacking CPI activists at Angadickal. The decision was taken after the discussion held between the CPM-CPI district secretaries. Udayabhanu said that the party will take organizational and legal action against the culprits.

With the spread of footage of the attack, several people started discussing that both CPM and CPI were not on good terms in the district. Following this, a meeting was held between CPM District Secretary KP Udayabhanu and CPI District Secretary AP Jayan. The meeting took place on the instructions of the state leaders of both parties.

CPI-Angadickal local secretary Suresh Babu and mandalam secretariat member Udayan were beaten up by CPM-DYFI activists in connection with the Angadickal Co-operative Bank election.

Police have registered five cases in connection with the incident. The CPI had complained that no one had been arrested in these cases. The CPI had also complained that the police were acting in a partisan manner. It sharply reacted against the attack through an editorial published in the party mouthpiece Janayugam.
