MALAPPURAM: Seven pythons were caught from pipes piled up in the Water Authority office compound. The snakes were found by Water Authority staff while cleaning the compound in the morning. A snake was found at first. Subsequent searches turned up more snakes. A total of seven snakes were found here. The captured snakes were handed over to the forest department.

The snakes were caught by volunteers from the Rapid Response Team.

The entire compound of the Malappuram Water Authority office is covered with forest. Hundreds of unusable pipes have been piled up here. The staff demanded that a search be carried out to find more snakes and that the authorities take immediate steps to clear the compound.
