PALAKKAD: In a compassionate gesture, megastar Mammootty has extended help to the family of Madhu, who was killed in Attappadi. The actor will support the family to run the case. Mammootty has promised financial help and will take a decision after talks with Adivasi organisations, informed Madhu’s family.

Meantime, special prosecutor advocate V T Raghunath said the delay in handing over digital evidence including the visuals, was the reason for the delay in the trial. He told a private channel that he did not want to continue as the special prosecutor in case of suspicion against him.

Madhu, son of late Mallan of Mukkali Chintakki was beaten to death on February 22, 2018, by the locals accusing him of theft. He was brutally beaten to death by them for stealing food items from shops in the Mukkali area. The family came to the fore with the complaint over the delay in the trial.
