THIRUVANATHAPURAM: Education Minister V Sivankutty came forward criticising teachers opposing the focus area of SSLC and Plus Two examinations. Teachers’ job is to teach children and they need to carry out that task, said Sivankutty.
The minister said every officer in the education department has been assigned a task. They need to do that only. There is no need for everyone to carry out the same task. That doesn’t even happen at home, the minister said. A number of complaints have been raised by people including teachers, demanding changes in the current focus areas. However, no changes will be made in the focus areas and discussions on A plus will not do any good, explained the minister. The decisions including reducing choices for non-focus area questions led to the complaints.
