ALUVA: 32-year-old Hafeez Ameer, a wanderlust will leave for Nepal on February 2 without carrying money. Hafeez will tell you the secret of this 'Zero Budget' journey - asking for lifts. He starts his journey from Aluva and travels to Nepal via Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and UP and return within 30 days. He also plans to roam around in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal in the same way.

Only essential clothes and a mobile charger will be carried on the trip. He will be wearing shirt and mundu. The trip will be made overnight to avoid accommodation and will have food from available places. Santosh George Kulangara, a world traveler, was the inspiration for the trip.Ameer is fluent in English and Hindi.

Four months ago,he travelled around most of the states in India in bike. But it was not a zero budget trip. The 81-day journey cost Rs 73,000, including Rs 35,000 for fuel. It covered a distance of 15,500 km. Hafeez runs a hotel called Al-Saj with his brother near the Aluva Women's College.

He plans to take his wife Shelmia and children Saihan, Sanaya and Eddasaria on their next trip after returning from Nepal. Eddasaria is now two years old. The destination has not been decided.
