KOZHIKODE: One of the girls of the Government Children’s Home in Vellimadukunnu was allowed to go with her mother. The action was after considering her mother’s plea with the district collector and Child Welfare Commission (CWC) seeking permission to take her home.
Six girls of the children’s home ran from there on January 26. Four of them were later found from Malappuram and two from Bengaluru. The girls had complained that they ran away from there due to the bad condition of the home and the place is also not safe. The CWC will consider their complaint today.
Meantime, departmental action will be taken against the cops after a youth found along with the girls tried to flee. The special branch had found that there were lapses from the side of the two coops. Two youths were found along with the girls. A case was registered on the statement of the girls that they tried to sexually abuse them after making them consume alcohol.
