HYDERABAD: Four women were killed when a car driven by a ninth class student crashed into a hut on the roadside. The incident occurred on Sunday morning in the Karimnagar district of Telangana. The dead have been identified as Fariad (32), Sunita(30), Lalitha(27) and Jyoti(14), who used to sell knives and other accessories in the footpath.
The car was driven by the 16-year-old son of industrialist Rajendra Prasad. The ninth grader was going to a nearby stadium along with two of his 14-year-old friends, to play badminton. On the way, the car went out of control and crashed into the footpath, killing the women. The boys escaped after the accident.
A homicide case has been registered against the father of the boy, said the Karimnagar police commissioner V Sathyanarayana. The same boy has driven vehicles through that road, many times. It has been found that the car was in over the speed limit. The same car has received fine for over speed, before as well, said the commissioner.
