KOCHI: 2075 calls were made from the iPhone which Dileep says he does not know about. The prosecution told the high court that the phone was used for 221 days from January 21 to August 31, 2021. Dileep had stated in the High Court yesterday that he did not know about the iPhone mentioned by the probe team and had not used it in recent times. The prosecution refuted this claim and asked that how Dileep could say that he did not know the phone he had used for eight months last year. A phone which Dileep's brother-in-law Suraj, had been using for seven years was submitted but the prosecution asked that further investigation was needed to ascertain whether it was the phone that was produced.

The prosecution had yesterday expressed suspicion that whether Dileep's Vivo phone was among the phones produced as requested by the court. Based on the call records, the prosecution said that12,000 calls were made from that Vivo phone and it had beenon use until December last year. The two digits of the IMEI number were wrong in the notice issued by the prosecution, asking for the Vivo phone. The prosecution corrected the mistake yesterday and confirmed that Dileep had produced the phone.

The trial court ordered that further investigation based on director Balachandra Kumar's revelations in the actress assault case, should be completed within one month. The probe team's request for six-month duration for investigation was denied. The prosecution will now approach the High Court. Earlier, the Supreme Court also denied the probe team's request. The same was considered by trial court. The investigation was started one month before prosecution submitted this petition, so two months will be available for enquiry. The court also suggested to the probe team to maintain the secret nature of investigation and to protect the personal information of the witnesses per the guidelines of the Supreme Court. As per the order, the investigation should be completed by March 1.

Although an order was given to submit summons to a witness by rural SP, it didn't happen. The summons was handed over to Nedumbaserry police. The court asked rural SP for an explanation on this issue and ordered to submit the summons via DGP.
