THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The crime branch is with a new move against Dileep in connection with the case conspired to kill the investigating officers in the case of attacking the actress. The crime branch demanded the magistrate court to send Dileep's phones sent to Aluva court yesterday, directly to the cyber forensic lab in Thiruvananthapuram. SP Mohanachandran, head of the investigation team, reached the court chamber and submitted the plea.
Based on the high court order, the phones of the accused including Dileep were brought to Aluva Magistrate's Court last night. Justice P Gopinath ordered to hand over the phones to the Aluva court without taking a decision on prosecution's demand wanting Dileep in custody.
The court had the other day asserted that six phones related to the case are being handed over to the DGP. However, after Dileep's request not to hand over the phones at this stage, the high court directed that the phones be sent to the Aluva court where the FIR is filed. Both agreed to this. Dileep also said the pattern of unlocking the phone will be given to the court. Following this, the court directed the registrar general to hand over the phones to the Aluva court yesterday itself. The investigation team should take over the phones from the Aluva court. The court had yesterday said the Aluva magistrate can decide whether to hand over the phones to the probe team.
The prosecution had voiced strong arguments against the actor. The prosecution had informed the court that the accused, including Dileep, were not cooperating with the probe. The investigation can be carried out vigorously only if the accused are taken into custody. The probe team told the court that Dileep had not produced a phone call related to the case. The actor claimed that he does not know about this phone. However, the actor had used this phone till August 31, 2021. The investigation team also said that there was evidence for making 2000 calls from this phone.
