THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Central government has not said anything against the Silver Line project clarified minister KN Balagopal. The reply given by the Central Government in Parliament does not mean that the project will not be sanctioned. Details of the project have been received and is being studied. Balagopal told the media that the Center had only sought a few more details regarding the project.
Earlier, the central government had approved the project. Then the steps were taken as per the instructions of the Central Government. Measures including land acquisition are part of this. The state does not want to rush this project .The Finance Minister pointed out that efforts must be made not to deliberately delay the project.
The project must move forward after necessary studies. Proceedings for technical feasibility study, economic feasibility study and environmental impact assessment are in progress. But if the permission is given after five years, the cost will double, Balagopal said.
