KOCHI: The Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad is all set for the first season of the Prime Volleyball League. While the talented players are all ready to showcase their skills, the volleyball fans of the country are nonetheless excited. There are seven teams namely Calicut Heroes, Kochi Blue Spikers, Ahmadabad Defenders, Bengaluru Torpedoes, Chennai Blitz, Hyderabad Black Hawks and Kolkata Thunderbolts, contesting for the crown in the first prime volleyball league. The matches will begin on February 5, 2022 and continue till February 27. On account of the surging Covid spread, the matches will be conducted within strong bio-safety bubbles. All the necessary safety requirements have been ensured, said the organizers.

On the inaugural match on February 5, Hyderabad Black Hawks will face Kochi Blue Spikers. There are a total of 24 matches. The teams which come in the first four places in the league round will get qualified to the semifinals. The knockout matches will be conducted on February 25. Exciting matches await the fans, as all the teams have equally brought in international players as well as experienced ones, in the PVL auction conducted on December 14, 2021 in Kochi.
