KOCHI: The prosecution has started hearing on the anticipatory bail pleas of the accused, including actor Dileep, in a case of conspiracy to finish off the investigating officers in the case of attacking the actress. The prosecution is trying to refute the strong arguments made by the defense counsel Raman Pillai yesterday. The Director General of Prosecutions (DGP) told the court that this was an unusual case and that not only the case before the court should be considered but also the history of the accused should be examined.
Strong evidences have been produced against the accused. Baiju Paulose has no role in the investigation of this case. Baiju Paulose has no previous acquaintance with director Balachandra Kumar. The accused gave quotation to rape his woman colleague. The prosecution alleged that the accused had committed an offense which was not even thought by the legislators.
A further probe was announced by the ADGP based on a letter received. The prosecution has no fear in the investigation of the case in which the actress was attacked. The defendant's allegation that the case would fail will not exist. The prosecution said there was evidence for the conspiracy. Balachandra Kumar is a faithful witness. Therefore, it can be believed that there was a murder conspiracy and further proceedings, said the Director General of Prosecutions.
Balachandra Kumar did not keep all that he heard in his mind instead he shared all that with his wife. The prosecution said Kumar's wife said that she was afraid that Dileep would kill them if all these things were revealed and this is mentioned in his statement. The prosecution said that the accused could be convicted only on the statement of Balachandra Kumar. The DGP also argued in the court the orders of the Supreme Court as proof of this.
Apart from Dileep, his brother Anoop, brother-in-law T N Suraj, his cousin Appu and friends Baiju Chengamanadu and Sarath have also filed anticipatory bail pleas.
