KOCHI: The hearing of the case of misappropriation of funds from the Chief Minister's Disaster Relief Fund is on February 11, this month. The Lokayukta has directed the government to produce all the documents. It is alleged that the money was diverted from the relief fund to help the families of the late political leaders. The Chief Secretary informed the Lokayukta that the Chief Minister has the discretion to use the money in the relief fund.

Ministers of the first Pinarayi govt are also included in the case along with the CM. The Chief Minister is facing three charges of paying Rs 25 lakh for the education of the children of the late NCP leader Uzhavoor Vijayan, Rs 20 lakh for the family of a policeman, who was the security guard of Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and later died in an accident, and Rs 8.5 lakh for repaying the car loan of the late MLA Ramachandran Nair and taking a gold mortgage loan.
